Interested in volunteering for Aging & Human Services but uncertain where to start? Attend a volunteer orientation. General orientation is a one hour overview of the services provided by Aging & Human Services and ways you can volunteer.
We offer the following volunteer opportunities:
- Catch-a-Ride
- Home-Delivered Meals
- Office Administration
- Food Pantry
- SHICK (Senior Health Insurance Counseling for Kansas)
- Special Delivery
To get started with one of the above opportunities, you must attend an orientation session. Orientations are hosted once a month on-site at the Olathe office. During the orientation you will complete all neccessary paperwork to volunteer. Weekday opportunities available from 8am-5pm.
If interested in joining Catch-a-Ride or Home- Delivered Meals, please plan on staying an additional hour for program training. The program training is from 2 pm - 3 pm.
If an ADA accommodation is needed, please reach out to the volunteer services coordinator. We would prefer to have two business days' notice to help us meet your needs most effectively. 913-715-8859 or HS-Volunteer@jocogov.org
*Please note this orientation is only for the Aging and Human Services department. If you are interested in volunteering for multiple departments, additional orientation or training may be required.*
