Teen Volunteers - Blue Valley Branch

Summer teen volunteers are essential to helping the Library during the busiest part of our year. There are two types of volunteer opportunities at Blue Valley:

Summer Reading Volunteers
* Helping children and families select Summer Reading books
* Keep book displays tidy and eye-catching
* Restocking summer reading book displays


Summer Reading Volunteers can expect to earn 8 to 24 hours spaced over the month of June, approximately 2 to 6 hours per week.

Materials Handling Volunteers
* Straightening shelves
* Sorting and shelving library materials
* Pulling holds
* Other duties as available

Materials Handling Volunteers can expect to earn 16 to 32 hours spaced over the course of June and July, approximately 2-4 hours per week.

Please Note:
* Volunteers must be 13 years old before June 1
* Submission of an application is not a guarantee of a position
* Applications must be submitted by the volunteer
* Applicants must sign up for and attend one of the orientation sessions listed below
