Are you tech savvy? Are you patient and able to teach others? If so, you might be the perfect volunteer to help with the Johnson County Genealogical Society's new Memory Lab.
The Memory Lab is equipment that helps community members transform their photos, 8mm film, and 35mm slides into digital formats.
Volunteers will be trained in utilizing the equipment. Then, they will sign-up for a weekly volunteer shift to help scheduled individual users transform their media to a digital format.
Volunteers must have basic computer skills. Prior experience using a scanner is helpful. Volunteers must enjoy working with technology and helping people of all ages learn to use the equipment. Patience with people and equipment is critical.
Shifts available are:
- Tuesday mornings from 9:30AM-12:30PM
- Saturday mornings from 9:30AM-12:30PM
- Saturday afternoons from 12:30-3:30PM
