Friends Book Sales

The Friends of Johnson County Library host Book Sales in the The Book Nook! every Saturday and Sunday. Volunteers are needed to help with counting books, greeting customers, and float around the space checking on customers.

Since are our focus is on providing excellent customer service, volunteers are asked to keep cell phones in your pockets and to not wear ear buds/headphones.

Interested in becoming a trained cashier? Here are the requirements:


  • Age 15+

  • Sign a confidentiality agreement

  • Attend a training on how to use Square, point of sale

  • Register for a cashier shift at least once a month, for a minimum of six months

  • Contact the Volunteer Coordinator to start the process to become a trained cashier volunteer.
